Paul A. Schluckebier

Paul Schluckebier, CFP®
Managing Director/Investments

Paul Schluckebier grew up in the farming community of Frankenmuth, Michigan, learning life-long lessons such as respect, trust, hard work, and the value of a handshake.  Paul paid his way through college with money saved from baling hay and straw, hoeing endless rows of crops, and bagging 100 sacks of black turtle beans.

A financial advisor since 1984, Paul serves as Managing Director/Investments and the leader of the Schluckebier Hood Wealth Management Group of Stifel in Owosso, Michigan.  He earned the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification, a mark of distinction in the investment industry awarded only after completing rigorous financial planning courses, passing a comprehensive examination, and attaining experience in the industry.

Paul believes in personalized investment plans that are diversified across the markets.  He helps his clients fully understand where their portfolio is moving and what needs to be done to pursue their financial goals.  He begins by educating his clients on the complex world of investing, ensuring they realize what they own and why.  Paul believes “investing is like an old-fashioned farm.  You plant corn, soybeans, wheat; add hay, and pretty soon, you have developed a diversified approach where no one calamity should wipe you out.”

Paul has resided in Owosso since 1984 and is deeply involved with his community.  He lives his favorite expression: “Leave things better than you found them.”   He's accomplished this through a variety of pro bono activities, including having served as trustee of the Shiawassee Community Foundation, vice president of the Memorial Healthcare Trustees, board member of the United Way, and past president of the Owosso Public Schools Board of Education.  Paul also served on the board of trustees of Baker College of Owosso and the Shiawassee Valley Development Corporation.  He values spending time with his wife, Cindy, and their three children.  In his spare time, he loves living on his farm in rural Shiawassee County.

Diversification does not guarantee a profit or protect against loss.

David Hood

David Hood, AAMS®
Senior Vice President/Investments
Branch Manager

David Hood grew up in Owosso and spent the majority of this childhood on the farm.  He spent his summers baling hay and selling vegetables that he grew in the garden.  When he wasn't doing his chores, he spent his time riding horses in the Ranger 4-H Club.  He also worked in the family business, Hood's Soda Pop Shoppe, where he learned the value of hard work and treating people with respect – values he still lives by today.

David serves as Branch Manager and Senior Vice Presidents/Investments of the Schluckebier Hood Wealth Management Group.  He has been in the financial services industry since 2004 and is very pleased to be a part of the Stifel organization.  He feels the Schluckebier Hood Wealth Management Group shares a value system with its clients, helping them align financial goals with life events. Dave listens to his clients to better understand their needs so they can develop an investment plan that will ultimately allow them to live the one life they have to the fullest.  When meeting with him, his most common advice is, “Wherever you are on your financial journey, let's develop a process to take you to and through your financial goals.  We will help you make educated, forward-thinking decisions with your money so you can spend time doing the things you care most about.”

David is very active in his community, including serving with Rotary International and Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors.  He has also served in many other leadership roles throughout the years with Shiawassee United Way, Boy Scouts of America, and Friends of the Shiawassee River.  He and his family attend First Church of Christ in Owosso.  For relaxation, Dave enjoys a round of golf and trap shooting.  A “family man,” he enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Lisa, and their four children.  When he retires, David is looking forward to “growing old with his wife and enjoying his kids and grandkids.”
